Palo Alto’s oldest Sister City Palo, Philippines was devastated by Typhoon Haiyan earlier this month. After this occurred our City took action by donating 10K towards the relief efforts and by supporting the good work of Neighbors Abroad, the official Sister City organization of Palo Alto. In addition to the City Council and many community members taking action, I was happy to see that Youth were also eager to answer the call to help our Sister City Palo.
Days after Typhoon Haiyan hit, members of the City of Palo Alto’s Teen Advisory Board were busy starting the conversation about how they could help and get involved. Inspired by the 10K that the City of Palo Alto donated they wanted to build on that momentum and organize an event, to raise additional money and demonstrate youth support of our Sister City, Palo.
You are invited to attend this very important event, “Glow for the Philippines.”By attending, you will not only be contributing to Palo, but also be acknowledging the efforts of these remarkable young people who have mobilized to affect change in our community and our world. All money will be donated to Neighbors Abroad
